Hello. I'm a graduate student in my early 20s working remotely in IT.
I'm a native Japanese speaker, born in Tokyo, and living alone in a house in an urban area.
This is a proposal for moving in together with the intention of eventually dating—not with marriage in mind, but as a step toward a relationship. (同棲, 同居, a roommate)
Wouldn't it be more efficient to just start living together right away?
Of course, it's entirely your responsibility to decide whether I'm someone you can trust.
I think this is a pretty straightforward and easy-to-understand approach. Isn't it?
The general process would be:
But if you're here reading this, I assume you're at least somewhat interested.
And if this idea sounds interesting or fun to you, there's a good chance we'd be compatible on some level.
A few things to note:
I do consider factors like land prices and electricity costs, so places like Kyoto and Hokkaido are less ideal.
I was born in Tokyo, but I prefer more rural areas over big cities.
I'm looking for someone who meets the following criteria:
Even in a good relationship, living together can sometimes lead to issues.
Things like money management, division of household chores, and general life skills can become sources of conflict.
It would be helpful if you're aware of these challenges.
*Note that I used the help of AI to write/proofread this post, although I have a pre-1 Eiken certificate (B2 level) and can write a post like this on my own. But my English is still terrible.

The general process would be:
- Voice call → Zoom (optional if you're not comfortable with video calls) → In-person meeting → Planning and viewing potential places to live.
But if you're here reading this, I assume you're at least somewhat interested.
And if this idea sounds interesting or fun to you, there's a good chance we'd be compatible on some level.
A few things to note:
- You'll need to provide ID to confirm you're over 18.
(If you obviously look like an adult, I wouldn't ask—but that might come off as rude.) - I'm not into outdoor activities or partying, so I'd likely get along best with someone introverted and intellectually curious.
That said, we'd need to actually talk and see how we feel about each other.
I do consider factors like land prices and electricity costs, so places like Kyoto and Hokkaido are less ideal.
I was born in Tokyo, but I prefer more rural areas over big cities.
I'm looking for someone who meets the following criteria:
- Under 160 cm tall *since I'm under 170 cm tall
- Asian (Indonesia/Indonesian, India/Indian, Malaysia/Malaysian, Thailand/Thai, Vietnam/Vietnamese) *since I like these counties
- A university graduate
- Speaks English and Japanese to some extent
