Japan will introduce its inaugural dedicated freight bullet train service connecting Tokyo and Morioka this autumn. JR East is modifying an E3 series Shinkansen by stripping its passenger seating and adding load stabilization technology. JR Eat expects increasing demand for rapid transport of specialized cargo, such as sensitive machinery and premium seafood and intends to offer a significantly faster and more stable delivery method than traditional freight trains. While existing Shinkansen services accommodate some cargo in limited spaces, this dedicated train will substantially increase cargo capacity and enable the transport of larger items.
