Is Yamaga City in Kyushu affected by the 9.0 earthquake in March?

Just this year in 2011, the 9.0 earthquake caused a lot of chaos in Japan. Can I ask whether or not is Yamaga City (ﾅｽRﾅｽﾂｭ巿) in Kyushu affected by this earthquake. Because I have a Japanese friend that lives there and he hasn't replied me since February this year and I'm quite worried.

I don't believe Kyushu received any damage, being a very long distance from the quake. Perhaps your friend is, like me, just one poor correspondent and too too hard to find. But that doesn't mean you ain't been on his mind.
