is there a point learning the kanji of vocabulary that's classified as "Usually Kana"

There is about 500 Japanese vocabularies classified as "Usually Kana" in edict

words like
沢山
是非
何時
駄目
有難う
etc..

Is there any point in learning their Kanji?

To be able to read them when they are written in kanji(relatively often, depending on the words).
To know the etymology/original meaning.

Well, I certainly wouldn't pass up on learning the information if I had the opportunity to -- I can't say for sure that you urgently need to learn them, but it really can't hurt to know more!

It certainly wouldn't hurt to able to read them, but I fear I might write and type them inapproately in kanji when I'm familiar with them.

That sort of thing just requires practice. The bright side is that if you learn them, you'll at least start learning the contexts in which the Kanji are preferred over the kana and vice versa. At least if you learn them, you have a chance of understanding it. You won't if you don't pick up the Kanji though. I know I'd much rather have tools that I don't fully understand instead of not having them at all.

They may be "usually kana" but I have seen them "quite often" in kanji.
