But uh.. Is this like.. "Real"? Or is it just a really funny joke? I found the woman pretty irritating at first, but after a while I realized that she was really ignorant, and found her stupidity kind of appealing.

That depends on how "American" is defined. The usual suspects have been trying to portray themselves as the only "real Americans" lately.
There are obvious problems involved in creating some sort of United States of Europe, but I would say that a USE is less unlikely than a North American nation.

I have to disagree. She was raised by her grandfather, who is in a wheelchair by the way. It was just the two of them, because her mother had left her when she was 2 years old, and her father was in prison. Obviously she wouldn't be able to go to college, so she worked as waitress, before she was lucky enough to catch a break on American Idol! She didn't even know what life was like outside her own state. She isn't stupid. She is naïve. I don't even think we would be having this discussion if she were an African American from the Bronx. Dat denk ik!

I would still have said the same actually.
I never went to college neither.
I just did elementary school and high school (didn't even finish the last) and believe it or not, I NEVER EVER had English lessons whatsoever, but look at me typing away here woohooooooooooo
Oh and my parents also stopped raising me since I was 9 years old.

On a serious note: Actually it's a fact that the American education system is very behind compared to for example most European countries, so on something like that it could be blamed.

Just remember there will always be people more intelligent than you, and people less intelligent then you! That won't change. However I must say I am surprised, to find myself disappointed with the people in the video you posted, rather than with the original video of Kelly Pickler. The topic of this thread was stupidity. However, what was most scary about your video is the fact that people would talk so casually about the military invasion of foreign countries, even though they had a very limited understanding of the world outside their own country. Maybe that was the original purpose of the video…………
