My iPod's name is Nemo, He's got a 30gig HDD and has only 430 songs, 6 videos, 99 pics, 2 eBooks. Whats yours?

I have the first model iPod Photo (got it in December 2004) and it's the 40 GB version. I didn't give my iPod a name.

It contains over 2000 songs which I play on shuffle. Because the shuffle function on an iPod is not very good (e.g. it keeps selecting the same songs over and over again, even with 2000+ songs on the playlist), i've created a smart playlist that removes played songs out of the playlist for a period of two weeks. I've noticed I play about 250 songs a week.

I also bought an iTrip so I can use the iPod in my car without having to resort to clumsy cabling.

lol, thats crazy 250 songs a week lol,I just bought a Maxell leather case for my black iPod cause it get scratches easily. Right now I am to stock up on music for the ipod for vacation to the philippines and china over the summer.

I could never understand smart playlists, I just make playlists after playlists lol I am organized lol. I wanna get a external Battery or make a portable battery charger for the ipod on the way to the countries since the voltage is different there than here in the US.

I don't have an ipod, unfortunately, although my elder and middle sons do.

Maybe I'll get one in the not so distant future.

Actually, I never thought I would get an iPod because they're so expensive. I got this one as a Christmas gift and now I can't live without it anymore. If it breaks down, I would instantly buy a new one.
Mind you, I should really make a backup of it's contents. Took me a year and the half to get my current collection of songs. If it crashed I'd be devastated...

Simon won his ipod a couple of months ago. It is a shuffle, that's all I know! The first thing he did was swap the headphones for a black pair. It accompanies him on his lunchtime walk everyday. I very much doubt it has a name.

yea I wanna make a back up for my songs, but I don't have ALOT of songs to worry about, 690 songs is not alot for me lol. Yea, before I got my iPod I didn't care much about it, but once I got it, I was hooked on it and wanted to fill it up with tons of music and that its gonna be the main thing I am gonna take with me on my vacation lol.

I just bought the fifth generation iPod with that larger screen and the ability to play videos. The longer battery life makes owning it more fun than ever. Mine is the white 30GB version on which I have about 1,200 songs on it so far, including my entire Pink Lady collection and it makes the ride to and from work every day much more pleasant. Now, the supplied earbuds are nothing to write home about, so I bought a pair of Sony noise cancelling headphones (I ride the subway and it gets noisy in the tunnels) and they work quite well. All in all, I LOVE my iPod!

30 GIG's is good to have, since that is all that they offer now, lol its small but holds TONS of music lol. The iPods are a craze and can't live with out em' lol.

I'm trying to decide whether I want an ipod or not; I have my eye on the nano but if there's a new batch coming out soon I'd rather wait for the price to drop.

I heard the new iPod is gonna be a big touch screen iPod.

well I was just thinking of a new larger capacity nano that would drive down the price of the current stock of 2 and 4 gig models.

it will take a while to bring down the prices.

Prices usually don't go down. Older models just disappear and the newer hi-spec ones take their place at the same price.

Your best bet would be the second hand market.

I wanted a 20gig 4th gen but it was no where to be found and when I did the price was like 280$+ so I'm better on getting a 5th gen 30gig for that price lol.

It doesn't make sense for a company to market an old product for the same price as its new generation of products; they would never get rid of their unsold stock without discounting them.

Considering the problems the Nano has with scratching, I wouldn't want one second hand. I'll probably go with a 2gb and a nice case for it.

all Mp3 players scratch. Apple is crazy about their products so if you really want a nano cheap amazon is a good place, and Sams Club is too, they discount the items 10$ off but it doesn't make a big difference.

I get a nice discount from my student's bookstore, so I know where i'll be buying it. All players might scratch, but I've heard a lot of complaints about the nano's soft plastic surface being very easily scratched.

yea, they are soft, thin and will scratch but thats how you handle it. If you buy the nano and then the case all in one day and everything its not gonna wear down. But the bigger iPods is that they make a clinking sound when you rotate it a little bit, but they say its ok, so not every MP3 player is perfect.
