Hey, everyone. I've been having a rather constant issue at work. I work on campus, @ the IT Help Desk. More often than not, on my night shifts, it's pretty dead. During this dead time, I might do homework, watch a movie, play City of Heroes... you know, do whatever to keep myself busy/awake/sane.
The problem is, every semester when they wipe the laptop that we use after-hours, I have to keep reminding them to install CJK support so I can do my Japanese homework.
It wouldn't be half as much of a problem if I had XP Pro at home, as I could just bring my own disk and pop it in. But I run XP Home, and apparently Home and Pro CJK support are two completely different animals. Animals that won't install on each other's framework (yes, I've tried).
I've tried searching the Microsoft site, but apparently I'm either not searching "properly," or MS just doesn't know how to label/tag its informational pages. So, is there a directory I can grab the installation from (in a .cab file, maybe), or perhaps a 3rd-party IME I could use that won't expire before the semester ends?
Or am I just gonna have to start beating my co-workers over the head with the laptop in question and hope they have some sort of Pavlovian response?
