In Search Of A Good Deli in Japan

Hello everyone.

I am looking for a good deli in the Kanto area that sells sliced meats. Genoa Salami, to be exact.

I am a HUGE fan of the BOAR'S HEAD brand Genoa Salami that I used to eat all the time in the US but I have found out that they were not available outside the US.

Does anyone know of any place that sells good Genoa Salami sliced to order?

If you could recommend a good brand that I can buy here in Japan, I would consider pre-sliced / pre-packed as well.

I like my Genoa Salami on the tangy/sour side.

I don't know any either....

I've seen Genoa salami but don't know what brands there are...

Most likely places in Tokyo:
Kinokuniya Supermarket, Aoyama
National Supermarket Azabu
Dean & Deluca in many locations--such as Tokyo Midtown
Park Hyatt Tokyo (Shinjuku) delicatessen

I"ve also heard of "boutique" shops for cheeses and other items, so there must be places like that, too. Sorry, I've no info on such shops...

Foreign Buyers Club also offers Genoa salami but not Boar's Head.

Park Hyatt's is good. I ate lunch from their today. I don't eat meat though, so basically never go on that side of the counter. Their hummus and various salads are good.

Thank you, Punch, for the suggestion. I have seen that name, Park Hyatt, while serching on the internet for delis in Tokyo. I will difinitely go check it out on my next trip to Tokyo.

And the Park Hyatt is where they filmed Lost in Translation, btw. Pretty nice hotel. Pricey, but nice.

I have contacted all three of them and no....they did not carry Genoa Salami.
I don't understand why, though. They seem to have everything else. I have just ordered some Milano Salami from Yahoo Japan Shopping. I know it's not the same but maybe I will like it.

Meanwhile, I will keep looking for Genoa Salami.
