I know how to say お風呂に入る to say that I took a bath, but I'm not sure if it can be used as 私は犬がお風呂に入る (probably not) If not, what would be the correct way to express that I washed my dog?
Close: 犬をお風呂に入れる (difference between going in the bath and getting put in the bath...)
or you can say just 犬を洗う (if washing process did not involve an actual bath).
For a cat it is of course slightly different (warning - not at all serious):
猫をお風呂に入れようとしたんです… すみません、ちょっと病院行ってくる
