Gah

Sheer mind numbing bollocks.

In Australia I can score 2 large pizza, a garlic bread and a bottle of Pepsi for $21.95AUD ($17USD, 12euro or 1752yen).

I once spent 9,000 yen just getting a medium cheese pizza delivered to my house in Osaka. (about $90)

Before I came to japan , I was on a diet. And I kept thinking "Tomorrow I eat pizza in japan! Ganbare!!" seeing that pizza is one of my absolute favourite dishes.

And here came tomorrow throwing my dreams away ..

The store type Pizza is not delicious , it doesn't even LOOK like Pizza !

And the japanese Pizza hot is too expensive , god ,the pizza was created to be cheap.

So the other day , I found a conbini that sells those "man" breads only stuffed with the Pizza dressing. Well , I found that it really tasted like Pizza , only the shape is %180 different ..

These cost 100 en. So whenever you feel passionate to the old days ...

lol. you can always make it. plus pizza is american. i think i rather have sushi with soy sauce and wasabi over pizza. Plus they have tons of variations of pop. I still wonder what it costs to buy the materials to make a pizza from scratch. I use ragu sauce.. However if there is a cheaper method and it taste ok go for it. that'd be a neat idea.. sushi pizza. make super mini sushi rolls and put them on the pizza... have ginger inside of the crust..
Maybe the reason pizza costs so much is because of the ninja turtles running around....

You can actually buy there goods at old collectors shops like Mandarake or in Nakano, three stops down from Shinjuku.


Regarding sushi et al. Valid point. But after two years here you want variation and some 'home' things.

Well the Pizza most of the world knows and eats and gets hom delivered is more an Americanised version of the Italian dish.

Over here we don't really have the americanized version.

There are big difference between our pizzas.

mostly it seems yours are way thicker, covered in cheese and generally contain a lot more fat.

Its existence is certified long before the discovery of the Americas around the year 1000 in the city of Naples. At that time pizzas were prepared with lard cheese and herbs. The pizza as we know it today was developed after the introduction of the tomato which originally came from the Andes. Brought back to Europe by the Spanish they set the stage for the modern pizza.
