I.C.E. is it really necessary?

I just watched the nightly news back in the U.S. and one of the stories was about a campaign to have people include a listing on their cellphone as ICE. This stands for In Case of Emergency. Is this really necessary? This is intended to give Emergency Responders an emergency contact in case that you are unconscious or brought into an Emergency room. Is this really necessary? I mean I appreciate the concern and the desire to be able to contact next of kin or others quickly to obtain necessary medical history, but what is wrong with "Home", "Mom", "Dad", etc...? That is how my phone is listed.

What do you think? Should I/We all begin to list ICE on our cellphone listings?
