I am sooo happy!

So I just recently moved back to Oregon from Alaska.
I was gone for a 1.5 years....so things have changed a bit around here.
I was driving home from downtown portland today, and saw they are putting in a Japanese restaraunt in my city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The only Japanese restaraunt I knew of even close to me, was this one all the way in downtown Portland.
now there will be one only 10min away from me!!!!!!!!!

Haven't tasted japanes food. All i can find is chinese resteraunts (only 1 out of 5 that are really good around here)

But there is 1 place though.. I've heard they serve sushi. and that their sake tastes like ( what moonshine is made of )
Think I'm gonna check it out anyway 'cause sushi can't be the only thing they serve.

Is sushi and sake typical japanese? If not, then it could be just another chinese resteraunt

YESS!! then I can finnally eat japanese food. I love asian food of all sorts, and i like tasting everything eatable

If the resteraunt is a family business, would they have their own family sake?
Since i've heard that theirs taste awful, but the ones i've tasted were quite good..

Japanese food is so nummy but its a 2 hour drive to a jap resteraunt where I live, you so lucky hehe

we have this kickin hibachi not far from where i live it is called "arigato" there slogan is "where your table is our kitchen" or something like that anywoo the food is great and the entertainment is second to none and dont even get me started on the waitresses they wear these really formal oriental tops and they look beautiful i think i might go there this saturday as a matter a fact. well anywoo congrats on the installation of the new resturant!

Erm...today I went to the Japanese ambassade...and I got a special treat ...*gosh Japanese ppl are so nice!!! * she gave me a full list with all the Japanese restaurants in Belgium ....so if you want to know nething...just ask !!

Eewww... I just had Japanese food at this so-called Kanagawa restaurant, which happens to be owned by Koreans, at Mississauga. I haven't had such bad J-food for a long long time. I was starving but I could only finished 1/3 of their greasy thick-bearded tempura bento... and I was the only customer in there! Should have figured that out.

Now my tummy feels really weird... eewww, eewww, eewww ... >_<

I worked at a Japanese resturaunt when I was younger, as an interning chef, and was 'fired' for sneaking into the main cooking hall and changing a lot of the J-dishes into J-French hybrids.

Odd thing though, is that nobody whom ate the dishes complained. Some of the chefs even liked what I did with their meals.

Ah....I love French cuisine....

Good to hear. Oregon's a nice state. I once dated a gal from Ashland, and my former student in Chi Kung lives in Medford.
