How do you know... ON/KUN and beyond

Right, I thought as much (aida = interval, or during/duration).

Also, I guess after finishing Genki I, it's like scratching the bottom-most 1% of Japanese. I looked at Chapter 23 and my god, there's so much more to go, and apparently Genki II is, on a scale of 1-10, 3!

Yeah, i use a web app for my SRS anki. If you dont know what an SRS you can probably google it and find out pretty fast
this guy recommends it
but not any other appstore apps, except stitcher radio for japanese podcasts to just listen to when im studying ><

also, kanjipop by limasky looks fun, do you have it?
 
I'm not sure if it's worth the money, to be honest. Kanji, the 99c one is definitely worth it, the iKanji for 9.99 is not too useful for me at this point but it provides a lot of compounds and sometimes sentences. Kanjipop seems to be the kiddy version of that.

BTW, I got work so I will reply to your message after if I have any energy left.

i thought it looked like a fun little game, are we thinking of the same thing?
it doesnt give anything but readings, and you have to select the right kanji out of a group of 25 or something, and do it till all the kanji are done.. the design looks very nice to me too.

theres a new kanji app that looks pretty good, its called iKanji Touch
the design looks slick. dont have the money to spend for it but, if you do get it, let me know how it is.
 
I think that's the one I have, 9.99 right? I'll post screenshots of it tomorrow. If it is the one I'm thinking of, it has Kanji separated by both Grade and JLPT, pretty useful. Contains a "Teach Me" mode: readings (ALL) drawing, compounds, and "fill in", as in ___ko = school, put the Kanji in with a compound. All in all, like I said its good, worth the money? I'd much prefer if it was 5.99, especially since their drawings are not easy for the left hand.

Take a few shots of Kanji pop, (power + home button, screen should flash) and post'em here or on my visitor messages. Speaking of visitor messages, it's time to read yours and completely fail. And speaking of failing, I've forgotten a lot of Japanese as I've got work for 8 days in a row, forgotten Pharm. Calc, forgotten Anatomy....so much...

True, I guess it's like a more interactive Kanji from Lima. Which is nice, but not really super worth it. That SRS system you were talking about, with the flashcards, iKanji has it.

Unlike Kanji from Lima, you can't as far as I can tell, it is JLPT and Grade so it's locked in. It comes with "revision sets" and stuff, its clear-able (deletable) but nothing solid.

On the iphone/ipod we have traditional chinese and simplified chinese handwriting (you write on the screen and it gives you some kanji to choose from), there is no japanese handwriting recognition yet. Do you know which set is closer to japanese?

It's pretty crappy, to be honest. I've drawn CLEAR CUT Kanji and it won't take, sometimes I'll seizure-draw and it'll come up as the first response. There's no Japanese recognition because when you type the kana, the Kanji usually comes up (hit arrow for more options) and it usually has it on there, to be honest. It's helped with my readings (I always did yesterday is kino, not kinou). I do use traditional, I'd think simplified would work better. I'll try it, though I dont know any Chinese to compare it to Japanese.

and yes, the same thing happens to me, i just randomly draw something on the screen, look for a kanji i recognize, try to draw it and then fail. i was wondering if its just cause my stroke order might be wrong?

i was gonna post some to try and see if theres a difference, but mine all look pretty much the same, even when im intentionally seizuredrawing.. Q _ Q

anyone who know a little chinese and japanese?..

An art to write a kanji is to write length and breadth in turn.
Let's write the line like a brick.
You must not hesitate.

The last part is a method to write a kanji well.
I wanted to tell it to write a kanji mightily.
If the line is not straight, the kanji looks unskilled.
Please write the line of the kanji without spending time at a dash.
If the line of the kanji is slowly written, the line doesn't become straight.
In Japan, The kanji that the child wrote is unskilled because the line cannot be written straight.
The kanji written in a straight line looks beautiful.

tsugi no "belt" wo wasureteimashita.tsugi wa midori(iro) no "belt" da to omoimasu.

私も頑張って、オレンジのベルトを取ろうと思います。

Thank you very much noreamon! Repped. I have this huge tendency to get tenses wrong. I have a question: Did I need the other belt? Could 緑色のだと思います work?
 
Because you have a belt of the blue, I think that the green belt is not necessary.

The Japanese of "緑色のだと思います" understands a meaning definitely.

The meaning understands Even "緑色と思います" .

However, when "の/no" is applied, the Auxiliary verb of "だ/da" is needed.
 

I think he meant if it would have been OK to do away with ﾆ遅ﾆ停?ｹﾆ暖 in the second sentence.
