How do I get Kanji displayed on my computer?

I can't find the the proper Japanese Language Pack for Windows XP....

You use something called an IME. It should be like the 2nd or 3rd thing on that Microsoft webpage. Install that. Unfortunately it's been a long time since I've used it, so for the nuts and bolts, you'll either have to figure it out yourself or hope for help from someone else.

Says I need Office XP to insall the IME. I can't find a version that would be applicable to me
