Hmm.. I have a question..

If I were to move to Japan through an exchange student program for high school what should I know expect for my age and situation? I am 14, and barely know much Japanese but enough to get me around a bit, but not much. All information would be greatly appreciated. And please tell me about some of your experiences close to what I would have to expect.

14 is young but not incredibly so. Most people going on exchange no little or no japanese. You'll be fine

i just wanted some help getting along within the high school environment, as japan has different trends and music etc then america

I wouldn't worry about that, you'll be accepted better as being different.

I had studied Japanese for about 2 weeks when I arrived in Japan as a 16 year old exchange student. The first 3 months were the most fun, trying to work out what my friends and host family were saying. Knew nothing about Japanese music etc but my friends had fun sharing all of that with me and finding out what I was interested in. You'll be fine, just keep smiling and putting in the effort, you'll get as much back as you put in.

Hmm...well first I'd start looking for a program. Once you find one they can give you a lot of information on what to expect.

I'm not leaving for another 11 days, so until then I can't give too much advice.
