As you can see by my awesome post count, I'm a n00b to this here board, but a veteran of others. Anyway, nice to be here and greetings to everyone.

I'm a Kiwi and I've been living in Japan for quite some time now (10 years+)

My hobby is travelling to strange places. Here is me on a recent day trip to the moon....kekekeke...Steppin off the curb-2.webp

Hi A.Z Thanks for taking the time to welcome me here!

A very big welcome from me, Mr Man, glad to have you here on the forum!

I've already read a couple of your posts. You seem to like a balanced discussion and be ready to comment, and your experience and time in Japan will no doubt bring a useful perspective.

Why not tell us a little bit more about yourself? Have you always lived in Chiba? Travelled around? Your interests? Anything you like really!?

see you around :)

Thanks again. Feel free to rein me in if/when I start getting too opinionated..LOL

Most of the time yes. Started in Tokyo as usual, and did my first stint of teaching in Aizuwakamatsu in Fukushima ken. I worked at Narita Airport for about two years (for the experience and Japanese practice) have been free lancing as a teacher now for the rest of the time. I'm married to a Japanese woman and we have two little kids. A boy (5) and a girl (10 months) she was born on my birthday, so she's the best birthday present I'm ever likely to have!!
Travelled around?
Yes, I've travelled to quite a few places. Lived about 5 years in Australia, been to Europe, America, India, China, the U.K, and a lot of Asian countries too. It's pretty much impossible now to travel like I did before, but one day I'll
get out again..

Your interests?
I'm an art school graduate, so I paint (oils) and still keep my hand in when slaving to support a family allows the occasional break. Also I love to play music (bass and drums)Anything you like really!?

Never been there yet, but one of my friends goes there regularly. He says it's excellent, so I really wanna go too one of these days.
My boy's name is "Rei" which is 窶氾ァツ in kanji, and my girl's name is "Linka" or 窶堙ィ窶堙ア窶堋ゥツ in hiragana. Cheers! :)

Thank you warmly indeed Mr Man for answering my rather personal questions (I blushed when I read back my 'inquisition'! ;)

You sound like a very interesting chap, and I look forward to seeing you around here and discussing things more. I hope to travel to India for the first time in the next month or two, as well as making a return trip to my beloved Japan, (I was a teacher myself all the time I was there - and in fact still am!)

Your artworks also sound very interesting, and I hear there's a thread around here if you wish to post one or two of your creations. I'm still very much a beginner myself, and developing my 'style', but I have posted my amateur photographs here and there.

:-)
