Hi! I am New!

Konnichiwa Minna-san!

I'm Joe, I've been studying Japanese for 3 months now, and am getting pretty good. I know hiragana off by heart, and most katakana. I can recognize some kanji, but I prefer hiragana!
I'm English, but hate my country, and want to live in Japan! I love Japanese food (sounds a bit girly but I make Japanese cakes and sell them at school! I make lots of money!) and my room is decorated to be traditional Japanese style! I am saving up 5000 pounds (UK) to go and live there (I know some people who can rent me a room for *very* cheap so I don't need too much.) I will put in my signiture how much I have so far, and update it every time I make 5 pounds or more!
I love rock music (I'm more into bands like Cradle of Filth, Trivium and Killswitch Engage), although I do listen to classical depending on the mood I'm in!
I skateboard, rollerblade and do lots of different sports, play guitar and piano!
I have many jobs, and on a saturday I work from 4am til 9am on one job, then from 10:15am to 6pm, then 8pm until midnight. I'm fully booked on a saturday! I manage about 80 pounds usually on saturday! I LOVE SATURDAY!

Hello and welcome, new person. Welcome to the site and enjoy your stay at Jref.

And over here in Japan, I also live in a pretty much Japanese style house...will some parts of it are, at least. Sounds like you're not afraid of work, and that sounds a bit like me too. While I was in Arizona, back in the States, spending a year to gain state residency before going to the U of A, I did two jobs. I also worked straight through school, paying my own way for the most part (about 80% of the total costs)

Well, when exactly do you think you'd be getting here, and what type of visa, and what type of work do you have in mind?

I live up in the Japan Alps area...it's pretty cold these days, here. Where will you be?

Well I plan to live there, so I will need a lot of money... but I think I will get there when I have my 5000 pounds. I know people there, so they said I can stay with them for low rent he he! I will probably get there in about 1 year.
Any work is good! I have no objection to a job if it brings in cash, as long as it isn't illegal
I am currently heading for high Science grades, so researching is good. I don't know about skilled labour, but I can do everything properly, plumbing, building, demolision-))etc (my dad made me when I was younger!)
I have no idea on which visa I should try for. Problem is that I can't see anything for UK longer than 6 months or something. Would you just have to re-apply? Thanks for the welcomes!

Sounds fair enough, however I would think that while you can reapply, it would be necessary to go for a working-visa as soon as possible. Of course, if you have friends here, and if they are Japanese nationals, they can help out, so that might be good.

Wow....that sounds nice that your father taught you all those trade-skills. I have learned a fair amount in that way also, and am also teaching my two younger sons especially. They (and especially my middle son, 14 years old) can mix up concrete and lay blocks, make floor slabs, and generally level them. The middle boy can handle some of the power tools fairly well and understands the essence of 2x4 building. They have helped me put on three roof types--Japanese slate, shingle, and roofing paper with tar.

you sound like a fun person,welcome to jref!^-^ I`m trying to learn Japanese too!I`m saving up to buy a book,and maybe a chinese one too,so I can understand the waitresses at the chinese restaurant,hehe...have fun on the forums!
