Hello everyone! I'm a 17 year old Japan lover from the UK! When I go to University in a few years I hope to study Computer Science as a major and the course a say called "Japanese language, history and modern culture" as a minor. After that, when I'm around 22, I'm going to go to Japan as an English language assistant teacher on something like the JET program for 3-5 years I would say; and then do the same in other East/South East Asian countries before settling down in America.
My profile may give the impression of me being a major otaku and wanting to come to Japan for those reasons alone, though it's not true. Although anime, manga, Japanese video games and J-pop/Rock are a part of my everyday life, they're not the reason why I am so interested in Japan and hope to live there in my 20s. The reason actually began a few years ago when I was a typical "hate the world" early teen that hated the way society is. I had a dream of leaving everything behind and going on one of those religious missions to a Chinese Buddhist temple in the mountains. After about 3 years, once I had felt better with my life I decided to see why anime was so popular (the only ones I had seen were the 90s mainstream ones like Pokemon and DBZ). I soon fell in love with anime and researched everything Japanese and fell in love with everything from otaku stuff to the language, history and culture, to the food, people, religion and the way of life. Even thing like the traditional villages and architecture to the megacity that is Tokyo is exciting and interesting!
Since then, I've become an avid anime fan, J-Pop and J-Rock lover, and big lover of Japanese food (been ordering from online stores and forcing my family to take us to Japanese restaurants). I hope to continue this for the next 10 - 15 years until I reach and finish my goal.
Thanks for reading my long intro! I tend to go on and on when I'm passionate about something.
