Hey there!
My name is Matt.
I'm from Canada.
The french section of it.
I speak/write french and english.
I'm 24 years old.
I'm a professional, I'm a bricklayer-mason.
That's what I do for a living.
Other than that, I start my Japanese class next month.
I'm planning ahead for a working holiday in Japan.
Anyone ever tried that?
I plan on visiting Japan, and eventually, if I like it (I know I like the cars and their beers) maybe start my own bricklaying business, if the demand is there.

Greetings from the heart of Japan, the Japan Alps !! Welcome to the forum Brick101!! I hope you work hard on your Japanese 'cause if you're interested in doing brick-laying work here, you'll need it real bad.

I do the work myself too, but am not so good. I laid the BBQ pit that I have outside the kitchen, it was hard, but it was a lot of fun. I think I got it pretty good, most of the spaces match, and I didn't use spacers. I used fire brick, and now, after some 9 years of usage, there is some cracking along the seams, but it's still holding.

My guess, is that there would be some openings for the work with certain building companies. I wish you all the best in your plans, but be sure to work hard on the Japanese. AND enjoy the forum too !! See you 'round !!
