help with word meanings and grammar

im doing the pimsleur course so of course they dont teach grammer too well so
what is the diffrence between hanasemas and hanashimas
when do you use each one?
also what is the meaning of dewa and deshou?

hanashimasu : to speak (polite form of hanasu; to speak)
hanasemasu : be able to speak

dewa: it's a combination of two particles, de and wa.
The meaning varies depending on the context.

deshou: it is a conjugated form of "desu".
(1) presumption, often used to express the future.
(2) asking for light confirmation ("so and so, isn't it" for example.)
