Help with Japanese Flag Translation

Hello all,
I acquired this flag several months ago, but was only just now able to photograph it. After looking over it with a friend, we believe that the flag is dated 30 July 1942 per the writing on the bottom right, while the two larger characters, 捨身, is implied to mean to "Give your all".

However, I'm having difficulty working out the exact meaning and translation of the writing on the left. I believe it's a poem/well-wish, but I am not 100% sure of the nuance and the meaning. Any help would be greatly appreciated

君の武運を心より祈る

Thanks for the correction, that was a typo on my part.

I'm having the most difficulty with the first line, "大君のしこの御楯と出で立ちし". I believe it goes something along the lines of being a shield/offering protection?
The last two lines I believe translate to, "I pray from the bottom of my heart for your good luck. Mr. Kamata"

It's 本歌取り "adaptation of a famous poem". The original poem is in 万葉集.

今日よりは返り見なくて大君の醜の御楯と出で立つ我れは

大君のしこの御楯 means Emperor's shield. しこ（醜）is a humble expression here.
大君のしこの御楯と出で立ちし modifies 君.
It's 君が武運, not 君の武運. (The meaning is the same, though.)
Your understanding of the last half of the poem is correct, but Kamata is the one who wrote this poem, not 君.

The literal translation is;
I pray from the bottom of my heart for your good luck, who left home/country as the Emperor's shield.


There is a red square stamp of 官幣大社諏訪神社 Kanpei-taisha Suwa-jinja (the present 諏訪大社 Suwa-taisha) on the upper right.
