How can I merge it with the って part?Kun: こと (koto), いう (iu), ことば (kotoba)
The romaji of this verb is "Itte imasu."I have this sentence in my facebook page (F & P are 2 friends of mine):
FさんとPさんが「いいね!」と言っています。
its romanization should be something like:
"F-san to P-san ga "iine!" to /gontte/ imasu."
And just one more in English.... と = and, (not either/or!)ohhh, so /TO/ is supposed to point to the quote "iine!" and /itte/ means "saying" also because it is headed by /TO/ !! I wonder how I missed that!
so the whole romanization should be:
"F-san to P-san ga "iine!" to itte imasu"
Either Mr. F and Mr. P are saying "isn't that good!" (meaning they appreciate it)
thank you so much!
Sagashite iru hito - Person being searched for/OR person doing the searchingok, so let me show you this:
探している人が見つかりませんか?
The romanization I'm able to get out of it is:
"sagashite iru hito ga miru tsuka rimasen ka?"
where the first part (the subject) is supposed to mean: "the search containing the person..."
bu then I have 見つか /miru tsuka/ I don't get and the final /rimasen ka?/ I thought it should be /arimasen ka?/
thanks
again it is difficult for me to merge the verb miru with the /tsuka/ part
thanks
The particle に indicates the target/object of the verb コメントする.ok, by the way I have seen I can use /suru/ to make many verbs, as the following: to comment...
AさんがBさんの写真にコメントしました。
which is:
A-san ga B-san no shashin ni komento shimashita
now, the above sentence is totally clear to except the /ni/ part next to コメント
what is that /ni/ for??
thanks
LarryさんがLisaさん、ほか10人と友達になり ました。
why the /to/ is put after /hoka 10 hito/, does it still mean "and" ??
Noun-related particles - Tae Kim's Japanese grammar guideAnother similar use of the 「と」 particle is to show an action that was done together with someone or something else.
(1) 友達と話した。- Talked with friend.
(2) 先生と会った。 - Met with teacher.
I agree with Mike-san. A whole chapter of a textbook would be needed to explain the function of "-teiru" form of verbs. Now, the following:
友達2人ファンになっています。
why the present continuos is beign used instead of /narimashita/ ??
I have come across the following:
いいね!を取り消す
I can understand the meaning because of the verb 消す but what is the use of 取り ??
thanks
