Hello! Hmm I dont remember the proper thread for this purpose but I need a few sentences translated into Japanese such as:

- I apologize for not having written in such a long time

- Thank you for the omamori and card and thank you for your concern about my safety. I hope you, your family, and your new baby are doing alright. (she gave me an omamori which says on the front "prevent calamities omamori")

- How was is your year so far?

- thank you for your kind words.

- I am sorry I could not send a souvenier in return as in the USA, especially in the area I live there are no good things to give as souvenier.

Thank you so much for your help. I have not written to my pen pal in ages.

I remember in another thread that you have been studying the language for a while; why not make an attempt at translating the sentences yourself, and we could help you with that?

Hmm thank you for the suggestion. I am sorry if I have been a bother to everyone. I can probably translate a few sentences. Thank you for your suggestion. I hope my last year of Japanese in school makes up for the loss during two years in which my knowledge was deprived.

Even if you know you'll be way off, just attempting to use what you know is a great mental exercise.
