HELP to understand the changes of japan society in the last 25 years??

Hallo anybody,
I am new to this forum but I have been staying 3 times in japan in 1982,1985,1996 and I can't understand where the japanese society is going; I have 3 questions to ask and it would nice if people married or divorced from japanese could help me;
I have seeing many changes in japanese society, like why so many divorces in less a decade??, I feel japanese people abandon the elderly to themselves?? and japanese do loose their japanese spirit to go for western material?? Thank you for your nice explications from Alain

I think that Japanese woman got more confidence to say things to their husband, and even divorce them if needed. Also Japanese man have worked harder in the years after the war until now than before ( am I right?) and there is more influence from the west.

Female is lonely because her husband works to much, and she can open her mouth after a while.

There are only about two or three people here who could even come close to giving an informed opinion on changes in Japan over the last quarter century.

The " genie " finally popped out of the bottle,Japan's divorce uptrend is long overdue.Japanese women nowadays have more choices,even a spinster can lead a happy fullfilling life.It's beyond me how Japanese girls could put up with all that heavy-handed male chauvinism crap this long.

I haven't read any reportings of Japanese not taking care of elderly parents or grandparents,they're still traditional Orientals.

Japanese will always be Japanese as they've digested all foreign cultural influences through out Japan's history.
