Help identifying old flag

Hello everyone!

I recently acquired this flag from a relative and wasn't quite sure what type of flag it is. I was told it was from WW2. It is small 7"x9" and has some writing across the top.

If anyone had any idea what it might have been for or what the writings may say would be GREATLY appreciated. I really enjoy learning about Japanese history.

It says 武士道 which is Bushido, often translated as Way of the Warrior. It could be from WW2 era but definitely not a WW2 good luck flag. The writing is poor so probably the person who wrote it wasn't a native speaker.

Thanks mdchachi! I didn't think it was a Yosegaki Hinomaru. I wasn't quite sure what it could be. I am still trying to research on the flag but not coming up with much. Thanks again!
