Help ID Two Characters On Wakizashi Tang

There are only two characters on this tang. No other markings. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Upside down, but looks like 兼定 (Kanesada)

There are a lot of Kanesadas. There are a lot of fake Kanesadas. I'd need to see the sword itself, because most of the vital information comes from the full sword: shape, tip, end, hamon, steel grain, etc... You may also want to post it to the Nihonto Message Board (google it if you are not familiar). The guys there are hardcore Japanese sword enthusiasts - much more than I am.
