Nice to meet you all! I joined because I'll be living in Japan for two months this autumn, and I have a lot of research to catch up on. I have to find a place to stay that is also kid-friendly, and I'm hoping to re-learn as much of the language as possible in the next few months, which will probably involve me coming here needing help with lyric translations. Looking forward to participating in some of your other discussions as well.
Saying I like this or that part of Japanese culture is too vague for this place, right? Mostly I'm into geeky stuff. I'm currently watching Sailor Moon Crystal. Not reading any manga at the moment, although my favorite mangaka is Tomoko Taniguchi. I used to listen to Visual kei and I think my favorite band is Laputa. It used to be Lareine until they split up, I was so heartbroken...I could never really get into Versailles either. Currently I listen to scary EBM / Industrial music that either comes from Europe or Canada. I'd love to learn more about the Japanese version of this scene ^_^
The most Japanese thing I'm into right now is fashion. I left lolita for awhile, but I love it too much to give it up, so now I am a "lone lolita" away from the community. My favorite styles are gothic dandy/male aristocrat, and a really gloomy and elegant version of gothic lolita. On a daily basis I just wear punky/gothy h.Naoto type stuff, but I try not to go overboard because I'm 30 and don't want to look like I'm trying too hard to be cool XD
Planning on returning home with a couple extra boxes of clothing yep yep.
