Hachiro was banned?

Why was Hachiro banned? He made a contribution to Jref, much more than I have been recently, and he gets banned for it?

I'm confused....

He was banned for the flame-bait European coward threads he insisted on spamming and then trying to start an uprising over it.

Good riddance TBH. He knew exactly what he was doing but he refused to take his Europe thread to Eupedia if he cared so much about it.

He was just using it as an excuse to cause trouble.

He broke the rules on several occasion and kept persisting on posting his thread altough he knew well enough those kind of threads are Eupedia-material.

Frank, I appriciate your less then friendly with the leadership but you gotta make the distinction between bad moderating and dealing with problems properly.

Hach was **** stirring, simple as, we know what happens when Jref doesnt nip these problems in the bud, Hach wasnt backing down, and insisting on causing a problem, he got banned for it simple as.

Sorry but just because you dislike Maciamo/like Hach is a small price to pay to make sure Jref doesnt suffer yet another troll problem, lest we forget SVF and his imitators.

Sorry it bothers you guys , but I for one dont mind seeing him gone, he didnt heed advice to leave it when he kept pushing.

Heres how it went down...

1. Hachiro posts the European Cowards? thread, with a linked and quoted insulting rant about Europe.

2. Others respond, it slowly sinks into, as to be expected, a bush-fire.

3. A mod locks and deletes the thread.

4. Hachiro posts the thread again a few more times plus a post whinging about censorship and saying he will keep posting the thread, Ignoring the fact the mods (and I) inform him that the thread is flame-bait AND not Jrefs problem, its a Eupedia thread, simple as.

5. Hachiro refuses to accept this, starts complaining, and stating his refusal along the lines of "why should someone have to sign up to Eupedia to post this European related flame-bait thread there, if I'm not interested in Europe or Eupedia, censorship CENSORSHIIP!!11".

6. A mod decides that since despite his claim he's not interested in Europe apparently, he insists on posting this Europe political related flame-bait thread in Jref, and his behaviour to the mods decision, he should it seems got a ban, since he isnt accepting the decision and worse, deciding to escelate the situation and cause trouble.


The mods are 3v1l if they dont do anything, the mods are 3v1l if they DO do something.



If your just worried he got banned by Maciamo because of their tiff he didnt, he was banned by a mod because of his rule-breaking behaviour.

Jref isnt a scratching post for wannabe Fidel Castro's.

From what I read in his posts that got him banned, he was gunning for a fight, not an actual contribution.

I agree though he did seem to contribute (when he wasnt arguing with Maciamo, lol , but then who hasnt?) to the forum before he totaly went bad.

Perhaps we should have a simple non-Japan-related section and confine those kinds of threads there. We don't need to start another Europedia section, just a "whatever's on your mind" section.

Simply put Hachiro was miss-behaving big-time.

Though I agree the rules could be numbered or pointed and made cleaner.

Hateful: The link he quoted in his thread was nothing more then an insulting hateful rant against all Europeans.

Inappropriate: The thread and its subject matter doesnt belong on Jref, simple as.

Repeatedly: He posted the same thread 3 times at least despite it getting shut down, and posted a rant informing us that he would keep doing it until he got his way.

Loss of Membership: Due to the above, and his sudden change in behaviour, a Mod deemed it necissary to disable his membership so he could no longer cause trouble, which he was basically trying to do.

Please understand I am not defending Hachiro's actions. But he started out friendly enough:

There is quite a bit of content on this forum that is not Japan related.

Nurizeko, do not quote something from another forum (especially rules) without stating where it came from. You could very well quote JREF's own rules.

Now, it doesn't explicitly say anything about posting non Japanese topics. (only unrelated posts). Therefore he was not in the wrong to do so....he was wrong for pissing off the mods!

Furthermore, the admins had just said that they could not/would not delete entire threads because it would cause problems with the forum itself...then it was deleted. Contradictions are abundant here at JREF. He persisted with posting the thread, not because he wanted to discuss it so badly, but rather there seems to be no consistancy here. (my opinion...I haven't spoken with Hachiro)

I totally agree with CC1. Although I didn't like the thread he started because it was doomed to become a US-European bad-mouth thread, I don't think that could have been the reason the ban Hachiro.

I was unaware of his actions afterwards and if your version of the events is true Nuri then I can understand his banishment.

However, why wasn't he allowed to post the thread in the chit-chat section? We're all decent human beings and we can't just always talk about Japan, sometimes we like to chat about other things too. It might happen that the content of it fits better in Eupedia, but what if you want to discuss it with forum members you always discuss with? Aren't we "allowed" to discuss Europe-related matters now and then?

I can understand if someone constantly starts new discussions about Europe that he is informed on the existence of Eupedia and pushed towards that direction, but that wasn't the case was it?

Far from being a "first offense" or "sudden fall from grace," this looks to me like the last in a line of ill-tempered and ill considered provocations either in tone or action directed at mods and admins, even the good ones. There was a lot positive that she contributed but undoubtedly she had her lapses as well.

We need to develop a special case of "conscientious objectors" for JREF members that refuse to support Eupedia out of moral outrage and to show their disapproval for its management and policies. Perhaps Hachiro would have fit this category :?

No need to talk about it (I think). It was of Maciamo's choosing, because he and I bump heads too many times on this forum. He chose to ban me, and since it is his forum he has a right to do so. It does state that the ban will never be lifted!
