Start with some good magazines like MAXIMUMPC or PC UPGRADE for modding articals and ads in the back. Try these sites to see some of what's out there.

If you are not real good with you hands, you can buy finished products. For a quick cheap start, take your PC case to a local sign painter and have him try your ideas.
