Hi All. Just purchased my second Good luck Flag. I just wanted to share and get everyone's opinion of course on authenticity. It seems like it was from a reputable site, enemy militaria. I hope everyone has a great day !

It looks suspicious to me. Mainly because it seems like it was all written all by one hand. Some of the writing seems suspect too but I'm not the best judge of that.

The recipient's name is Masahiro Numaoka (沼岡正大君). Not sure what the first kanji is. It looks like maybe it was meant to be 馬 (horse) but that wouldn't make sense. Google thinks it's 黒 hence they say the name is Kuronuma and I guess it thinks 岡 is prince (王子). Regardless Google is wrong. Writing that first kanji so messily is also suspicious given that it's such a prominent part of it. Let's see what the experts say.

Thank you Sir ! I only purchased it a few hours ago and being that it's Sunday I can email them and tell them to cancel the order for such suspicions or just stop payment via my credit card. I had some suspicions being that the sun was to perfect of a circle and I haven't seen those types of tie cords in any other pictures. Am I correct in that respect ? But thought maybe the difference was because it's a smaller flag. I turn to everyone else about the writings ! Thank you for the insight Sir. I do look forward to what the experts say !

Fake. Writing is horrible.

The kanji that looks like horse is 為 (爲) or tame, meaning "for".

Hi Sir. Can you give me some more explanation so I may add it to the seller in an email ? I have already advised him to cancel my order. Thank you !

As mdchachi says above, the signatures on the flag were all written by the same person. In other words, it wasn't signed by 20-30 different people. It was written by one person. The ink in each signature is the same; same thickness, same stroke idiosyncrasies, etc. The presenter's name looks like it was written by a child. (It could be that the presenter was just someone with poor penmanship, but it is highly unlikely. It feels like every signature is written poorly - as if the writer has no calligraphic training or familiarity.

Ok thank you for the explanation Sir ! I very much appreciate your time ! It's unfortunate for the seller and myself but I guess it happens.
