Good Japanese Language School Near Shinjuku?

Greetings,

I want a good japanese language school near shinjuku that teaches Japanese Intensive Course for 3 months and prefer the schedule to be 4-6 hours/day, 5 days/week for 3 months.

Thank you for your replay, I looked into that before you mentioned the links in your replay, but I couldn't tell which is good or bad solely based on this website.
What I am asking in the thread is a personal experience with a good language school (someone who studied at a good school).
I searched for the schools and I'll apply to Kai Japanese Language School which from what I read in the internet is decent.

Being a native Japanese, I cannot give you any advice based on my own experience, but I've checked out some language schools in the past and found that Kai and Naganuma (this one is not in Shinjuku, I think) seem to have good reputation. Good luck and enjoy learning Japanese!

Yoshida Institute

I would advise you to consider Yoshida Institute in Takadanobaba (2 stops from Shinjuku). The school is the place where I have studied Japanese, so please do your research and ask me if you have any questions.


I have studied long term there, but I know many people that actually study for 3 months in an intensive course at Yoshida and I had always great feedbacks from them.
Naganuma is very good too, but is in Shibuya (10 minutes train ride from Shinjuku).


A good place to start to look for info about the Yoshida Institute is the Go! Go! Nihon website, which is in my signature.

I have heard and read about Naganuma too, seems to be a decent school and might be the one I'll apply to instead of Kai for 3 months course, torn a bit right now though.

I have checked your website and I must say good job with it, it's straight-forward, user-friendly, informative and looks good as well.

I have many questions for you though: what are the students nationalities for Yoshida (for the majority of them, give me an estimate number please) and is there a good mixture of international students, or it's a focus on asian countries (koreans, chinese, etc,)?

And is the 3 months program starting in january still open and not full on students yet?


I am now between Naganuma and Yoshida, talking with my friend who lives in Tokyo about it then I'll inform you all of my choice.

Takadanobaba! By coincedence this is the place that I'll be living at in Tokyo for the 3 months course duration.

It seems Yoshida Institute is my best bet since it's there.

I inquired about Yoshida, they answerd with that I need prior knowledge in Japanese for beginner class even (Learning how to read and write Hiragana & Katakana), which really, really annoyed me now. :-(

Any suggestions/tips?

Hiragana and Katakana are both very easy to learn. Use smart.fm and you should be up to speed in about 2-4 weeks depending on how hard you work at it.

I did a 2 1/2 mos summer at KCP in Shinjuku which was very good (for the price ;-))
