I was a bit unsure of where to put this thread, since the food area seemed to be only for recipes.

Anyway, I am trying to find -- as the title says -- a good, affordable, and preferably, unique, restaurant around Shinjuku. The only requirements are that it isn't Japanese food, and isn't spicy. That cuts out Korean it seems and a lot of options. Izakaya style is fine, and the more quiet and cozy the better :)

Thanks for the recommendations guys :)

Even stuff like yakiniku? Not saying I actually know of any but is there a specific reason Japanese food needs to be excluded?

I am just posing this because I think you may need to be more specific about what you mean by Japanese food, since in my mind now that category is much broader than it used to be.

Yeah, I wasn't the one making the requirement of "no Japanese food, no spicy" so I'm just assuming it means no yakiniku :D Anything other than that, I am guessing is good.
