Geocities refuses to let me enter Japanese text!

Halloo, I have a Japanese program on my PC and I'd like to be able to copy what I write in there onto my geocities site but I can't figure out a way for it to work. The program I have is called NJStar, if that makes a difference. I've given up on it, so I figured someone else probably had expirience with this sort of thing. If anyone knows how to make it cooperate, that would be uber spiftacular. Thanks much ^_^

I think you will just have to create the webpage yourself without any geocities help and then upload.

Or have your already made geocities site and take the code for that, then insert the japanese text and then upload that new.

Dont know really i would of assumed it would let you as surely Japanese people use it also. When you copy it does it paste into anything else, try pasting it elsewhere first and see if it works.

On my Japanese word processor ctrl+c is not copy it was something else so i had to change it manually in the hotkey options.

I just spent about 20 minutes trying to find the answer on Geocities Help and experimenting with creating a page with Japanese text myself.

It was among the more frustrating experiences I have had lately.

The problem seems to be that geocities can't/doesn't grok Japanese input and not a problem with your editor. I use the Japanese edition of XP and all Geocities spit back at me was some puncuation marks and numbers.

Either code your pages yourself with some html editor or get something besides one of those ratty Geo5hitty accounts.

now, geocities occurs as promotional (free) service.

the intention: people who use it, are required to learn (unconfortable) website programming.

this service is absolutely free, and comes together with 1GB email.

i do not see why you diss it. :?
it works very well to display japanese. you just need to include the right tag.

now, if you have a windows licence, you may prefer spaces.msn.com

this works with japanese font, you can copy&paste text easily.

geocities is just a promotional giveaway.

if you like to make up a BBS, getting thousands of visitors, and operate comfortable editor: you need to pay for that.

The same thing happened to me as well, I looked it up, geocities does not support Japanese text, but I have made Japanese websites before, but you must join Geocities Japan. The only problem with Geocities Japan is you don't have that easy builder thing, you need to do everything in HTML, unless you join the Yahoo Japan thing or something, pfft I dunno I hate reading so much stuff with kanji, so I just got the jist of it, but no problem once you learn basic HTML you can make a pretty nice looking site (´窶栞ﾂ｀)ﾆ知

I figured out a cheater way!!! First, type whatever you want into your Japanese program, hit the "Print Screen" button on the top row of the keyboard and this takes a screen shot. What I then do is paste into my little windows paint program and crop around the Japanese text. Next, I save the image as a jpeg and upload it onto geocities as a picture! The background wont be able to change however, but if you leave the site as white with a border, it looks like it's written on the page. You can't really alter your text after that, you'd have to re-do the whole thing, but it works! No code, no geocities Japan. It's actually somewhat easy. Yay for me ^_^

If you lived by me, I would have made you a cake by now, maybe several, for trying so hard to help me out. Unfortunately, that doesn't work so well over the internet. Here I was just gonna comment on how Mike can diss it out but always is the first to help someone in need.. and this is something he gets red repped for?

I can green rep to make up for the ridiculously small amount of rep he lost on it (and why shouldn't I? the post deserves rep) but that wont make up for the sheer insult of the bad rep...
