well, i dont know, but while on this section of the site, i've seen a few lines taken from generally funny men. So, my question is which comedian makes you "giggle away till dawn?"

as some of you may have realised from the previous quote, mine is Bill Hicks. :D

I'll Take ...

George Carlin. He can really make you think about the real world craziness.

Frank

😊

oh too many to choose from, bill hicks is hilarious, so is carlin.
hmm ill add robin williams, rodney carrington and ron white to the list they make me fall out of my chair.

I would have to say George Carlin....and maybe throw in Stephen Wright, both of them can make you laugh so hard about everyday stuff! Best non-offensive comedian? Tie: Bill Cosby and Jerry Clower (although he is more of a story teller!)

Clower said (paraphrasing here, perhaps) "I don't tell funny stories. I tell stories funny."

Carlin, Robin Williams, Pablo Francisco, et al. are all funny. I can't pick a favorite, so I'll list some more who haven't been mentioned yet. Brian Regan, Arj Barker, Greg Giraldo, and the big guy from last year's "Last Comic Standing," I think his name was Richie.

oh ralphie lol
i was so rooting for dat phan the whole time prolly because he was the underdog and everyone wanted him out.

I don't think I have any in particular. I haven't even heard of most of the guys mentioned here. There's two guys in the UK - Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer..don't know whether any of their shows have been shown abroad though. Bill Hicks is cool too.

oh i forgot mitch hedburg.
hey pablo francisco is the big mexican guy that that acts like a little kid yeah? wears hawaiian shirts all the time?

hehe, i havn't heard of many of the ones you guys have mentioned... :( :(
but i'll probably look in to them now.
Although I just found steve martin (70's stand up) and he's funny in a wacky sort'a way. :D :D

Ralphie, that was it! I thought that Dat Phan shouldn't have won because A) he wasn't all that funny to me, and b) he recycled jokes in a way that would please the EPA.

Mitch Hedburg is funny, too. I forgot about him, and some other guy whose name I can't remember, but I saw him on "Comedy Central Presents." He was a redhead. Oh yeah, Dane Cook is great, too.

Pablo Francisco is the guy who does the "movie guy's voice." I love that bit; it's hysterical! :D

Speaking of classic, Eddie Murphy was pretty funny back in the day. Now he mostly does kids' stuff, but he was great as donkey in Shrek and Shrek 2!

oh yeah i know who youre talking about his names like darby or something he cracked me up too.

Reeves & Mortimer is probably an English thing, not too sure if their brand of humour would be understood elsewhere, their first series of Big Night Out was classic comedy IMO. "You just wouldn't let it lie" etc etc.

For stand-up comediens I think Emo Philips is hilarious, anyone else heard of him?

@thereisnospoon - Yeah, I think you're right, but one of their shows may have been on BBC Worldwide...I think some English shows are on PBS in the US as well. But yeah, Vic and Bob rule. Oh, I like your avatar by the way - classic movie scene! 👍

Dutch comedian(Hans Teeuwen) American -> JIM CARREY all tha way !!!! This guy is so damn hilarious !!!! :D :D :p 👍

ps. Why didn't any of you mention him?? :(

david brent is ricky gervais (don't know how to spell his name :( )

Hey Rock, Jim Carrey is Canadian, not American. 😌

@Brooker - Yeah, those three are great, too. I'm starting to feel like I have Alzheimer's or something, having forgotten so many good comedians.

Anybody ever watch Mr. Show with Bob and Dave? I've seen some of David Cross's stand-up, and it's pretty funny as well. Also, what is the name of the cross-dressing British comedian? I can never remember his name, but he's really funny.

AAAHHH yeah!!! eddie izzard!! hahahaha oh man forgot about him too, he's great.

rock prolly becuase jim carrey does movies much more than stand-up comedy, if any, becuase ive never seen him do stand up.

Yeah, Eddie Izzard! I don't know why I always forget his name.

I've actually seen Jim Carrey do standup once. It was an old clip from some young comedians showcase, and it was pretty funny. He did some strange things with his body, like putting his arm behind his head, and made it go straight across! That was pretty impressive. 😲
