EU has been becoming bigger and including more European countries.
But contrary, Europe is likely to take the same path as before.

It is very interesting to see that so-called liberal countries (being receptive to immigrations) are becoming more anti-immigrants in these days, while Japan is often told racist country without any Nationalist Party in the country.

Like in any truly democratic country, people are allowed to freely form a political party. I hardly call half dozen right winger extremists a trend though.

In EU it has actually become easier to immigrants to come work. Portugal even have programs to register illegal immigrants so that they become legal. In japan these people would probably been arrested, fined and deported.

Also, immigration is free for residents in any Portuguese-speaking country. This said, Portugal is considered actually very restrictive in relation to most European countries.

As far as I know, Extreme Right-wing Party was Negligible in Europe some 20 years ago.

But Today it is more obivous, while EU was established and growing.

From my Japanese point of view, Being receptive to illegal immigrants = More Extreme Right-wing.

I think there must be something wrong.

From 1925 to the 1930s, the German government devolved from a democracy to a de facto conservative-nationalist authoritarian state under President and war hero Paul von Hindenburg, who opposed the liberal democratic nature of the Weimar Republic and wanted to find a way to officially make Germany into an authoritarian state.[citation needed] The natural ally of the foundation of an authoritarian state had been the German National People's Party (DNVP or "the Nationalists"), but increasingly after 1929, more fanatic and younger generation nationalists were attracted to the revolutionary nature of the Nazi party, to challenge the rising support for communism as the German economy floundered. By 1932, the Nazis were the largest party in the Reichstag. Hindenburg was reluctant to give any substantial power to Hitler, but worked out an alliance between the Nazis and the DNVP which would allow him to develop an authoritarian state. But Hitler consistently demanded on being appointed chancellor in order for Hindenburg to receive any Nazi Party support of his administration.

On 30 January 1933, Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany by Hindenburg after attempts by General Kurt von Schleicher to form a viable government failed. Hindenburg was put under pressure by Hitler through his son Oskar von Hindenburg, as well as intrigue from former Chancellor Franz von Papen following his collection of participating financial interests and own ambitions to combat communism.[citation needed] Even though the Nazis had gained the largest share of the popular vote in the two Reichstag general elections of 1932, they had no majority of their own, and just a slim majority in parliament with their Papen-proposed Nationalist DNVP-NSDAP coalition. This coalition ruled through accepted continuance of the Presidential decree, issued under Article 48 of the 1919 constitution.

The Beginning was very democratic, wasn't it?

There are some extreme right-wing groups in Japan, but they don't have any congress seats after WWII. So in my point of view, Europe is moving ahead or only Europe is being more nationalistic.

Probably, Europeans may be afraid of something ....
I do hope they will not push us to adopt the same ideology - "Japan must be receptive to illegal immigrants".

Nederland

A rightwing Dutch MP said yesterday that he was making a film to highlight what he calls "fascist" passages in the Qur'an, in his latest high-profile criticism of Islam.
Dutch MP makes anti-Qur'an film

Theo van Gogh was killed by Islamic fundamentalists in 2004.

So-called the most liberal Ducth government includes Dutch MP (knwon as anti-Islam).

Being more receptive to immigrants is the way to extreme right-wing country, isn't it? Europeans are just playing the hypocrite or something others?

It is happening in Japan under the veneer of Democracy (LDP). Trust me !

I definitely believe you after my experiences their and researching issues in regards to non Japanese being married to Japanese in Japan, divorce issues, child custody, etc.

If you a foreigner getting divorced to a Japanese national, you are almost guaranteed of losing everything including the child/children to your partner, not to mention being thrown out the country!

The figerprint issue on arrival is just one more rise point.

If I remember correctly, the reason it was originally taken off the "Alien" registartion card was because of Korean's in Japan actually taking it all to court..

I may be wrong on the above..

Discrimation is definitely on the rise in Japan.

I also remember when Japanese in Russia were being targetted and beaten up, and also the issues inside China of Japanese being targetted..

It is not acceptable in any way, shape or form..

It is happening in Japan under the veneer of Democracy (LDP). Trust me !

OK I trust you. But so far I don't see it. WHY? 😌

OMG.

Japanese are not illegal immigrants to Russia and China.

But Chinese are Russians are illegal immigrants to Japan.

Needless to say.... Australia is a country of racism.

I don't know whether their government is receptive to illegal immigrants or not, but the reality is anti-non-whites. There must be extreme right-wing party there.

I don't care, but many from middle east are minding.

Quote from the Dutch Minister President (balkenende)

So it pains me when people see a religion like Islam as a danger. Islam is not a danger. People who abuse Islam to spread terror are a danger.

Regarding the murder on Theo van Gogh, I think this is not part of the Extreme right wing Party... It's a happening, and you got a lot more happenings like this... but I do not think it should be in this thread.

Wilders, is a crazy fool who talks too much and brings The Netherlands in danger with his upcoming movie about the islam... same as Hirsi Ali did.

Extreme Right-Wing Parties are one of trends in EU. WHY this happen ? and WHY not happen in Japan ?
Did you just say that there is no right-wing extremism in Japan?

I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the black vans.

From my Japanese point of view, Being receptive to illegal immigrants = More Extreme Right-wing.
Is something getting lost in translation, or do you have your right and left mixed up?

Maybe "Theo van Gogh" was a happening.

Then, you mean Dutch congress continues to be anti-racism and being receptive to illegal immigrants to date?

While Japanese congress does not include ANY party/congressman claiming "anti-Korean or anti-Chinese"?

Did you just say that there is no right-wing extremism in Japan?

NO. I said there are some extreme right-wings in Japan, but NO PARTY in the congress.

Everybody can claim "I am a right wing" and we can see agitator on cars in front of train stations in Tokyo. But they are not political power in Japan. People neglect them.

However, in EU at least, we can see more extreme right-wing political parties, claiming anti-imigrants. This is quite interesting comparison.

Japan is often told by so-called West that Japan is a racist country, while they are obviously racist countries.

Multilateral comparison including JAPAN often let us know something unique.

When West tell us something, they have troubles in their own countries.

Probably...they want to find out the same problem in Japan to feel relief. But cannot.
I am more interested in their mentality of the so-called West.

NO. I said there are some extreme right-wings in Japan, but NO PARTY in the congress.
no, this is what you said
Extreme Right-Wing Parties are one of trends in EU. WHY this happen ? and WHY not happen in Japan ?
If you are trying to clarify what you meant, that's fine. I started writing my above response before I saw your #4 post.

And what do you mean by "receptive to illegal immigrants," since you seem to use it to describe both liberal
so-called liberal countries (being receptive to immigrations)
and right-wing
From my Japanese point of view, Being receptive to illegal immigrants = More Extreme Right-wing.
.

You seem to be hung up on illegal immigrants. I can't think of any party with a substantial amount of power that is in favor of illegal immigrants. What these right-wing groups so radical is that they oppose LEGAL immigration. Go into a room and say "we shouldn't allow illegal immigrants to stay here," and you'll get less argument than saying "we shouldn't allow ANY immigrants to stay here."

Either "Legal" or "Illegal" is a question of laws of individual sovereign nations.

But at least EU nations have been more receptive to the people from other countries than JAPAN. It is often told.

But we can see more extreme right-wing parties in EU nations and taking congress seats.
"Taking congress seats" means political power and supported by people.

Meaning that voters are being more extreme right-wing.

Again meaning Nations, being receptive to the people from other countrires, are shifting towards extmere right-wing. Make sense ???

nobody stop it ?
it is crazy. I have never seen the Japanse right winger to do like that

Needless to say.... Australia is a country of racism.

You are referring to a riot once on Cronulla beach located in the suburb of Cronulla in Southern Sydney.

That was definitely an exception, the first of it's kind and believe me, it was quickly squashed by the police and shocked local residents in the area.

You will now find Muslim Lifesavers on that same beach.

the rioters were a bunch of thugs, no doubt many already knwon to the police and does in no way represent the Australian government or a poulation on the whole..

Get Real Astroboy!

their are loads of Japanese families, workers and working holiday visa makers in Cairns..

Come here and ask them what they think..

Racism? Discrimination? Where?

Japanese love it here.. The people are warm, friendly, giving and very hospitable..

Japanese are part of the Cairns community and population and always will be..

I for one would be the first to stand up against any discrimination in Australia..

I wish Japanese would say the same thing in Japan..

Maybe you guys follow the book to much instead of using common sense!

When there is an influx of foreign immigrants (legal or illegal), the common reaction seems to be a growing resentment towards those people. This comes out of misunderstandings and fear. Right-wing extremists capitalize on these fears in order to seize power. They are called demagogues. Fear is a very powerful tool for these people, and they say very scary things to spread as much fear as possible.

Perhaps the reason that an openly right-wing party hasn't seized power in Japan is because the average voter isn't yet scared enough of foreigners. Legality is not the real issue--they talk about "illegal immigrants" so people more people will agree with them--a foreigner is a foreigner to the right-wing extremists. I find it rather pathetic, and scarier that their tactics can be effective, moreseo than the tactics themselves.

I found that their is a major problem in Japan involving discrimination and bullying of their own culture for non racial reasons.

Here's just one example of a group of school girls laying into a boy.
japanesegirlgangsters17bq9-1.webp

as an aside, I think that it's also important to avoid calling one country or another "racist." That is not constructive, it's trolling. If you want to hurl insults, go to one of the millions of other unregulated sites where people spew whatever garbage they want.

Kyoto Returnee: Those images were the subject of another thread. I think the going consensus was that they were probably faked (for some kind of fetishist). Bullying is still an issue in Japan, but it's not what this thread is about.

haha, thanks for the confirmation, pipokun. Care to weigh in on this thread's topic?

Kudos on the two pictures by Kyoto Boy. I love seeing Japanese girls lay into a fat boy. I wish I was him. I'm such a bad boy !

Anyway, I can understand German youth of today acting like this. For sixty years Germany has been on its knees asking the international community to forgive it for past atrocities. Germany has paid its dues over and over again, almost to the point where it's freakin' embarrassing to hold your head up high anymore. And while all of this is going on the Bernstiens and Goldmans are licking their fingers and counting that cash that they sucked up from the poor hard working Germans.

You have many good hard working Germans who have been unemployed for upwards of 5 or more years ! This is what they get for trying to be a friend of the world. If you can't work you can't save money and if you can't save money then your children won't have a future. Japan will not become another Germany ! Japan is much smarter thanks to history.

Then, you mean Dutch congress continues to be anti-racism and being receptive to illegal immigrants to date?
I did not say the Dutch congress hasn't got any racist (anti-moslim) members in it. Because it has some... but you've got that everywhere.

I was expecting something from you regarding the Dutch MP. But I guess it doesn't matter for you.
