Exchange year in Japan!

Hi all!
Some of you might remember me, like always so wonderful Frank D. White does , and some of you might not, and that's ok. I was busy with my studies, but now I'm back!
I came to tell you that I got selected as an exchange student in Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata I will be studying mainly Japanese language. I already have studied two years in university, but yet there's so much to learn! In the end of August I'm leaving my small home country Finland and flying to Osaka.
I'm sure I can find lots of useful inofrmation by reading through different posts here. Though one thing that I'm wondering is, should I buy a camcorder, so that I could shoot videos of Finland during summer? Would Japanese people find them interesting or not? And, if anyone knows how and from where to buy tickets to jrock concerts, could you please tell me? I know shop(s) named Like an Edison sells them, if my information is right, but how about buying via Internet?

Hmm videos of Finland might indeed be nice to show to people there; it would be a great way to break the ice and dispel misinformation about Finland (which I have to admit that I know very little about either!) If buying a camcorder isn't too much of an expense, I think it's a nice thought.

As for concert tickets, I can't help you there. I saw some street performers above Umeda Station, and that was good enough for me.

You might consider moving to the north pole or south pole if a low population density is your thing.

I heard Finland is a beautiful country though. A mate of mine is half-Finnish, and he told me some interesting stories.. I'm sure the Japanese would love to images of Finland, and hear stories about people distilling their own vodka, home-made blood sausages and jumping in the ice-cold water in the winter. Have you had similar experiences? Maybe my friend is a madman and he made all the stories up.. Or maybe my friend is a madman and he is the only one in the country that does such things..
