Can anyone help me - I've heard there is proverb in Japan which can be translated like this... I need to find it!

Do you mean that the proverb I wrote in my previous post is the one you are looking for by "Thank you"?

What is your source? Is that really a Japanese proverb? Is that really a literal translation?

I live in Kazakhstan. We speak here russian. I've heard this proverb in russian (there are several sources in internet saying this proverb is japanese, but of course Internet is not an official material...) and translated it into english. That is all I know unfortunately...

There are not so many free books in internet about japanese proverbs in english (about russian - situation is even worse)... That's why I couldn't find something real. One guy also wrote me "一寸の虫にも五分の魂"... But it is not exactly the thing I am looking for(

So, you just read that 'Even a moth (butterfly) lives a life' MIGHT be a translation of a Japanese proverb SOMEWHERE ON THE NET, and there's no clear evidence for that, right? I even doubt if that Japanese proverb really exists. In fact, I've checked in a Japanese proverb site ON THE NET and found that only one proverb contains "butterfly" among 1150 proverbs in the site, and there's no moth one there.
