Due le Quartz

Well, concidering the member thing: I constantly hear Sakito isn't doing music anymore and I'm slowly starting to believe it. I don't want to and in the end I may not ever believe it. Sakito was a great vocalist (no matter what other people may think  I personally love Sakito's voice!), he had an amazing stage presence and that just disappeared when he did... 😭😭 I'm so close to crying...:(:(:( But being the showoff I am even when no one is around, I don't cry...hardly...ever...

Kikasa has his own blog and is a support bassist for various artists within Tuxedo Pro. And Kazuki is support drummer. So him and Kikasa still work together! 👍

Kikasa has brown hair now...😌 He looks quite cute. 😊

Oh, also, back to Sakito...: Sakito did chorus for the 'one-time-only' band Mintaishi with Miyavi. Here is the member list of Mintaishi:
*Yoshiyuki Ichimiya (R.O.M) on vocals,
*****Miyabi on guitars,
*****Kikasa on bass,
*Takahal (THE CRAYFISH FIVE) on drums,
*****and Sakito on chorus.
I wonder if Miyavi asked Sakito to do it...and Kikasa...? Because I hear that Miyavi and Kikasa didn't get along very well... Hmm. Makes you think.

Sorry, I probably wrote too much. Gomen. :sorry:

No it's fine, thanks for all the info. I wondered about the other members. Yeah it's really sad that Sakito isn't singing, what a shame. He did have a good voice.
How come Miyavi and Kikasa didn't get along?
I'll have to check out Mitaishi, thanks for the info! And don't cry! *Hugs*

I have Kikasa's blog link if you want it. It's in Japanese. I have yet to check it today. I've checked it everyday since I found it. I heard Miyavi bugged Kikasa and that they had really different music tastes.

It's driving me crazy that Sakito doesn't sing anymore. I loved his voice. I'm listening to a lot of Due'le Quartz music because of him. I'm going crazy! I miss Sakito! :(

I started getting in Due le quartz way back in 2000 and ended up seeing them dozens and dozens of times. I always liked Miyabi. At the time he really started a trend in visual because he was so young and so good on the guitar. I don't need to tell anyone on this thread that Miyabi's stage work was absolutely amazing for the kid his age. He moved, acted, posed, and played the guitar like someone who had being doing it professionally for years. I don't think I am being understative at all when I say he influenced a lot of other bands. In fact, once Baroque came into vogue, and Kei was on guitar, EVERYONE compared his stage style to Miyabi; Miyabi junior they would call him.

My favourite memory of Due le quartz was a one-man live at Takdanobaba AREA livehouse in Tokyo. Holds about 500 - 600

I was in the pit - five feet from the stage. I was, at that time a regular at their shows and always enjoyed getting hand-slapping high-fives from Sakito and Miyabi. I was afterall - in 2000/2001 - I was the only White male foreigner at any visual show. Anyway....

I thought I would play a trick on Miyabi.

I brought one of those big party streamer guns - the kind that shoots streams of colored paper. After Miyabi did his solo and was looking for applause from the fans, I let him have it with the party streamer gun.

Whoops! It was bigger than I thought... and poor Miyabi and his guitar were COVERED in glitter string and streamers of paper. He looked like a human Christmas tree. I laughed... and then he started looking around for who did it. he saw me laughing and waving. He started pulling the mess off him and gave me "the finger!"... but I could see a smirk on his face. Sure enough I squeezed to the stage front laughing as Miyabi moved toward me... still giving me "the finger!". Then all of a sudden he smiled; blew me a kiss, and our hands slapped in the air.

Almost 8 years on this scene and that is still one of my favourite memories... right up there with climbing on stage at a Vidorou concert and stage diving; almost flattening Jyui.

@Bunshinsaba: seriously?!?☝ You are so lucky!! Make sure you keep those memories forever!👍

Seriously!
I got into visual in June 2000, right when Due Le quartz was getting big. I was flipped out over Miyabi. I mean... damn... he was so cool. I went to dozens of their lives and they knew me by name. I remember Sakito and Miyabi were especially glad that a guy was at the shows and always made an effort to lean into the audience so the three of us could slap hands in the air. They got a kick out of that as much as I did. I always wondered how the girls around me felt.

And before I forget (as if...) once at Club AREA, I knicked out after their set and ran around to the back and got Miyabi just before he left in his band van. He signed my CD. If I am yet allowed to post pics on this board (last time I tried they said I am too new!!), I can scan a copy.

@Bunshinsaba:Oh my God! I've never been a big Due le Quartz fan but when it comes to SAkito and MYV I just go insane! I bet teh girls weren't very happy with you being so lucky :p let alone being able to run after them and ask for a signature.....😊

I know it's kinda weird...but why did they disband? Did they just want to try something new? ☝

They disbanded because of differences, and Miyavi wanted to go solo...

I miss Sakito... Do you know if he's doing anything anymore Bunshinsaba?

do people still go on this thread?

I can talk about them. I have some fond memories of them - as described earlier. I was the only foreigner (until I met Ben from Chaos System and began going to lives with him) who loved Due or who even knew about them. As such... I was on a name to name basis with the members.

I also Due stuff on Ebay under the name princess_miki... wink wink.

And let me just clear that up... I'm not a drag queen or some goof ball dude running around Harajuku with a little wand and dressed in Lolita wear. The name Miki refers to my wife. Whew!

BTW... remind me to upload that Due/Miyabi autograph I got after catching him behind a club as he was dukcing into the band van.

"Re:Sbiundead home de suck" is my fave song, hands down, the performance from Shibuya Ax live was just badass too :D

I don't know any sites, but what I do if I can't find the PV of a band or footage of a band from a gift DVD-R is to surf YOUTUBE. I have a Sony PSP and use the free Flashlynx software to convert Youtube videos to MPEG4 so I can wtach them on my PSP. The quality is pretty good too.
