I'm afraid I post it on wrong thread. Please forgive me if I'm wrong about posting.

I want to share to you something from my mind about dreams. I hope you will not be bored. 😆

To imagine something is very different thing, the need of every human being. It done to reduces stress of the day, to get rid of fatigue. Imagine is, when you want to do something which is never happened, behaving as if it happened. Any taste of the world never gives flavor to people, like imagine. Like love...

If you need to do a bit of philosophy, I can describe dreaming on a long way. Dreaming is a personal thing, it has an immunity. No one can touch it, can not change. Imagine is the reality is that the subconscious. Like a dream. Both are born subconsciously. Its source is the person's mind. The only difference is that, we can command our imaginations, cos we are awake. The philosopher who I like is Platon think that, the world is Ideas world, that does not exist in reality. You might be say "get out of here", but he says everything takes place in the mind. Sometimes, we can not command our life. We act in accordance with the rules from the outside. The only life area which we can commend, only belong to us, is exist in our MIND! If we begin to use this datas from subconscious, consists of dreams. Wherever the city we imagine, all of them are a utopia. E.g Denizli, Tokyo, Amsterdam...etc.

Imagine something is like a movie. When the movie ended, starts a new movie. When someone want to have a car, start to imagine that car, works, earns money, buys the car... And, dreaming car is over for him. And than, a new dream, new utopia...

I love dreaming and live in dreams. If I write a book which I mentioned about my dreams, I can make full a library. Half of my dreams are about LOVE. But, I'm not always happy in my dreams. Sometimes, I don't want to be happy in my dreams. Sometimes, I would imagine bad things. I never make anded my dreams becouse of they are bad! I'm looking for how I can be happy. Even this is enough to make people happy. It is just a step to reach saturation. Imaginer never can be creamed, becouse there are a billion different ends, in dreams. Dreams can continue untill death. After death, already we will be DREAM.

I could mention about my dreams, but I think that when people hear my dreams they will start to mock. Eventually, they are my dreams, my realities.

Altough I can't explain my dreams on my blog, I will give you some clues for know me, better.

Waking up seems to immediately erase many of my dreams?

The ones I do remember seem to be based on things in my awake time. For instance , I will have a toothache in real life. That night I will dream about all my teeth being pulled and getting false teeth. It seems my small worries in my life turn into nightmares in my dreams , always blown out of proportion to the real life minor worry. Other times my dreams are based on a TV show I watched or something I read that day. I can not recall a "happy" dream , most of mine are troubleing. Maybe it has something to do with my old age?

Dear Uncle,
I don't think it has something to do with old age! I remember that a friend who always have bad things in his dream altough his young age.
If you ask me, our dreams derived by things which we saved on our subconscious while we are awake. For beautiful dreams while sleeping, we should keep our mind fresh. Before sleeping, let's review the that day nut just good ones. Never mind your problems in your bed before sleeping. Have you got any problem? Don't worry about them, and let them go out. Remember beautiful days, and always be optimistic. I think your dreams will be nice.

If you will not think this is a religion advertising, I will share some thing to you. In my religion -islam- muslims pray before sleeping for having good/lovely dreams. Please read this prayer before sleep:

Original: "Allahummme inni es'eluke ru'yen salihaten sadikaten gayra kazibetin nafietin gayra daarrin"
Translation: "God! I wish you show me true, good and don't lie. Please show me which is useful, don't frighten!"

I'm sorry becouse of incorrect translation.

I hope your dreams will be nice. Nice to know you Uncle :)

suhanalp, I enjoyed your presentation. I like the first post better. I appreciate that you are working at writing about a very difficult and involved matter, in English. Plato (as we usually spell it in English) had worked out some very elaborate treatises on matters related to the mind, but, alas, was uninformed on the workings of brain (as in the neural tissue) and the brain (as in the whole organ). His overall presentation on mind is very incorrect in some ways, and, in other ways, simply far too imaginary to be of any realist, down-to-earth, pragmatic use and/or application. (It does make for good philosophy, of course, though.)

I would hope to help make some things clearer, please. There has been a whole lot of research and study put into the area of cognitive neuroscience and consciousness science over, especially, the past 10, or so years. In the late '80s, when people like Bernard Baars, Francis Crick were starting to work on the scientific study of consciousness and mind, Behaviorism was still the ruling area in journal publication. Even in the 'Decade of the Brain' ('90s) with philosophers like David Chalmers, Daniel Dennett, John Searle, and Ned Block giving more thought to it, there was not that much research being done.

We know that brain (as in tissue) function is a processing function which builds to a threshold of having a state of consciousness. All processes which are below that threshold, are those which are usually called 'unconscious.' (note: this is not Freud's 'the unconscious.' His explanation was lacking, and is not usually used.) However, the better way to say it is 'pre-consciousness.' All sensory input is processed in a kind of 'working from the bottom up' manner, and after some level of activity is reached, an instance of neural activity can be accessed into the system which relates to the state of having consciousness. This is kind of long, I know. The point here, is that dreams are formed on pre-conscious substrate by the visual processing areas of the brain, and only those which are active enough to make short-term memory, can be recalled in the wakened state of having consciousness.

But, what this means, is that we cannot control dreams--the brain centers that deal with that processing are kind of 'free wheeling.' However, in the case of lucid dreaming, a person can consciously control the dream content. The course of a day's activities, it has been shown, will greatly influence dream content. It will not determine all outcomes, though. Dreaming, of course, mostly happens (around 90%) during REM stages of sleep, and not in NREM stages (especially stages 2-4). Also, REM stages (REM 1) are longer in the hours before usual waking. (and remembered content is more robust then too) There is a connection with imagination too, but I may touch on that later... maybe.
