Hello, IssacMahogany. Do you like Japanese sake? 浪花正宗 used to be one of the
best sake in Japan. The sake maker mixed cheap sake to expensive sake and it
was detected last year.
The kanji you ask about is not in the modern form. As Mike says, I also think it is an
obsolete and stylized version. It may be 発 because the one below it can be read as
酵. 発酵 means fermentation, which has something to do with sake.
Roughly speaking, there are five forms in Kanji. All of us learn 楷書(kaisho). But few
of us learn the rest forms, that is 行書 (gyousho), 草書 (sousho), 隷書 (reisho),and
篆書 (tensho). I believe that only calligraphy experts know all the forms.
Your Kanji must be in tensho or reisho form.
