Back here in Indian, We take off the shoes and leave it near the entrance same as Japanese

I'm not exactly sure why I do it, since my family's Filipino, but I'm sure it's because of my mom's OCD that I do it constantly. My brother, on the other hand, could really care less. He wears his Vibrim's everywhere - and I mean EVERYWHERE - and brings them into his bedroom...it's just not sanitary.

Yes, of course. We always take off our shoes in houses in Turkey. I think this habit is so necessary for clean houses.
