I think the Chinese criminal organizations are, at the very least, more active in Japan and elsewhere...they are active in Hawaii, California,Las Vegas and New York. It sounds like mostly Asians are their victims. Google "Yakuza in America" for more to read about it.

I have to wonder, if they are so loyal and obedient to the Emperor, why doesn't he simply ask them to stop what they are doing to Japan and the rest of the world?
Seems to me they pose a pretty big financial threat the Japan and the whole world.
They were loyal and obedient, or thought they were on June 5th 1999. Google "Does the Emperor need the Yakuza?"Who said they were loyal and obedient to the Emperor?
Personally I hate walking home late at night and meeting guys like this in those narrow alleys.
Also , I am sick having to go down to the local well and get the water for the days washing , drinking ect. This is a pic of our local well.
Don't forget, that you go through a fair few candles here, since electricity is still not mainstream in the country areas.
I know, I know there are still a few misconceptions about Japan , but once you get used to it, it is fine.
And to get to the point, I am sort of thinking that some of those misconceptions still might be in this thread?

I can't believe they don't have electricity, but on the other hand, powerlines everywhere do kinda take their toll on natural beauty and settings I suppose.
Our history and landmarks do not go back near as far as Japan's do.
oh. I didn't know that.Tabitha, firsty, believing anything I said above really does show your lack of knowledge about Japan. Of coarse they have electricity and water running water.
Secondly, if you believed that, then there is no end to you taking whatever you read as gospel.
I think the article you were referring to was this one correct
I think you will find these groups go under a different banner from the Yakuza. I am not sure if the person who wrote the article is aware of this?
Thanks sweety.
oh. I didn't know that.
I was under the impression He could simply ask them to distribute all their booty and belongings to the poor and needy, and then turn around and off themselves in a horrible way and they would happily do it.
I guess I watched "The Last Samuari" one time too many. lol
Can you recommend a more realistic, and up to date movie? Like a real Japanese one translated or with subtitles? Perferably one I can order online.
Thanks sweety.
What is this I don't even
okay, go to mysoju.com. Look up Japanese dramas. I recommend Majo Saiban (a psychological thriller starring the marvelous Ikuta Toma), because personally, I don't much care for romance dramas, but some decent, popular romance dramas are Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana Kimi) and Hana Yori Dango. Heck, watch some anime. Those don't provide particularly accurate cultural information, but it'd give you a better picture than The Last Samurai.
Also, I recommend reading up on the history of Japan since the turn of the century. There was this war... it was kind of a big deal, you know? In the West they call it World War II; in Japan, the Pacific War. It kind of changed everything. Not to mention the fact that the feudal age of Japan had ended quite a while before World War II.
In seriousness, you should look for the book Shutting Out the Sun by Michael Zielenziger. It goes into the current culture of Japan, talks about the economy, the history, the social climate, the psychology, comparison with Korea, etc. It's quite thorough and quite educational, and I highly recommend it.
And for heaven's sake, don't depend on Hollywood for your cultural information! I mean, you don't think everybody in Texas is a cowboy or every girl in California is blonde and buxom, do you?
HAHAHAHAHA
She called you Sweety like you were some punk kid !!!
Wow ... that just made my day.
Desire and reality are two entirely different things. And so are Hollywood and reality. Most girls want to be blond and buxom though.

I've never wanted to be blonde.
Well, there is a bit of merit to what you say. Everybody in my neighborhood knows where the yakuza live, and we avoid them, but we don't live in fear of them. Most of the time we don't even think about them.
Over here the FBI pretty much wiped our Mafia and organized crime out. They ALL rat each other out when they get busted. Perhaps Japan needs some pointers from the US again to take care of it.
Our mafia is pretty much in hiding. They avoid US.
A government that does not deliver, is weak government..
A government that does deliver, is poor government...
It is a terrible catch 22 isn't it?
I heard that on a radio show this morning.
