Difference between 分かる and 判る

Hi everybody,

well I often stumble over a word which has more than one kanji.
When I then use the Internet-Dictionary, it also often gives me like, this and that kanji is often used in this and that case.

But I recently read the word 判る, and am wondering what's the difference to 分かる?

They are the same word, and 分かる is the most common way to write it, and then わかる and then 解る and then 判る (in my limited experience.) Some writers simply prefer 解る as their 'ordinary' way of writing the word, while others use it to emphasize the word.

わかる is used a lot in the sense of 'yes, I heard you', or 'did you hear' or whatever, senses where not a lot of mental effort is really implied by the verb. Sometimes 解る・判る are used to emphasize that something less casual is meant, that something is really being learned or figured out. And sometimes it's just double-tapping on kanji conversion and doesn't mean anything.
