Counting people sentence

Hi there. Gotta make this quick but please let me know if my answer to the following question is correct.

Question: nihongo no Kurasu ni onna no hito ga nannin imasu ka?

My answer: watashi no Kurasu wa ni wa onna no hito ga gonin imasu.

The only mistake is "KURASU ni wa". (The first "wa" is redundant.)

I know you made your answer for practice, but just "Gonin imasu" or "Gonin desu" is used in real conversation. No one answers in that way. My two cents.

It's odd, but my book keeps giving me sentences that almost always use 'nanin'. E.G:

Kyoudai ga imasu ka? Nannin imasu ka??

And

Anata no daigaku ni gakusei ga nannin imasu ka?


Surely it wants me structure it like I did in my OP? Or should I just repeat your method? Confusing.

Does the textbook want to answer like that? Is there no example answer?

Well, there is an example answer that follows my original method, but id rather use a more commonly used method like yours in the long run

"Watashi no KURASU ni wa onna no hito ga gonin imasu." is a correct sentence and can be also used as a description about your class, not just as an answer to a question "Nihongo no KURASU ni onna no hito ga nannin imasu ka?", so it's helpful in learning sentence structure (and it would be the aim of the textbook). "Gonin imasu" or "Gonin desu" is moe common as an answer, as I wrote, though.
