Yes, but there's no rush.
I've translated a novel, so I could probably handle a video game.
Were there no explanatory notes at the beginning of the book? Those are markers to show where the pitch accent rises and falls.
Actually, no explaination markers.
My other book doesn't have this.
su[mima]sen.
So mima is emphathized?
MikeCash, can you give any idea about progress?
One person said, do it until you understand it. Well, that's pretty hard on the yan-san video because they don't explain what the verbs, objects mean, the particles, etc. Only very few of them they explain. Even at lesson 16, they didn't really get into it.
The problem is its difficult for me to understand. Like you said, its totally unrelated. Do you think I've made any progress recently, at all? I certainly hope so. I realize that sometimes I get things mixed up, its' because I'm not used to the language. I was able to conjugate "I'm playing my PSP', thats good, isn't it?
Now, I wanted to say "I'm playing my PSP and reading." (at the same time), I heard you use nagara, but I don't know exactly how to insert this.
I should also say I'm a slow learner. Even with math, it was slow for me to learn it. However, once I learn it, it sticks. (Unless I don't do it for years).
So, here's some options, please tell me which one I should do:
Should I....
1) Only do the japanese video, and pratice writing the hiragana on each one until I mastered it, as well as listening to the video and remembering the phrases ? (1 lesson per week, each one is 30 minutes long)
2) Do the video, and 1 lesson in the book "Let's learn japanese", and one lesson in "Japanese conversation" all in one day.
3) Screw that. You can't learn it, period. You need a teacher.
=====================================================
I'd honestly like to get a tutor, in a group, or whatever so I can ask questions. But it costs alto of money. Also, elizabeth-san gave me the phone number of some society in Phoenix arizona called "Japan society of america' or something. That's not the name, I forgot the name, and a google search didn't help. I also lost the PM, so I lsot the phone number.
I called the man before ,but I want to talk to him again. The lessons are supposed to be very expensive. And I don't have a job. I'm hoping best buy will hire me for the video game part (I'm very out going, that's good, is it?)
One more question (Gomen!):
1) Do you think far east people (Including japanese, koreans, chinese) have a harder time learning english due to its stricter rules (japanese is more looser) than us (or europeans for that matter) learning japanese?
Thanks again mikecahs, and everyone else.
