Confucius Lives Next Door by T.R. Reid

I just finished reading this PHENOMENAL piece of writing. Quite possibly the best non fiction book I've ever read.

Reid breaks down the positive influence that the "Confucian code of ethics" has on East Asian cultures, especially Japan. He delves into issues such as crime, income gaps, family structure, education, etc... The book was extremely insightful and was written, in a very informal tone full of anecdotes. Reid spent 5 years in Tokyo as the Tokyo Bureau Chief for the Washington Post. He moved to Shinjuku with his wife and two young children, and has some hilarious stories to reflect on.

Anyone having been to Japan will appreciate this book. Anyone who wants to visit Japan will want to visit more after reading it. Highly recommended!!!

I had a read at the book and I must say, somethings might be helpful for foreigners living in Japan, It's East from a Western perspective.
