Commonly Used Kanji

Hey... I'm still learning some Japanese on my own, but a little help wouldn't hurt right?

Say if I were to go to Japan today are there any commonly used Kanji symbols I should be aware of.

I pretty much have Hiragana & Katakana down pact. Kanji is the tough part (for me anyways)

I just wanted to know if there are Kanji that is frequently used. Like in shops, hotels and other stuff like that.

Yeah....a couple thousand of them, give or take a few. Look up 常用漢字 (じょうようかんじ).

禁止（きんし）,危ない（あぶない）、危険（きけん）。
