Defence Chinese spy plane violates Japanese airspace

Wow! That's rich coming from an American! When I was growing up in the 80s, it seemed like you guys were meddling in a different Latin American country each year.
That's different because the Latin American countries were very close to America. You're welcome for getting rid of the bad leaders there. It's not like we were trying to cause a war. It was simply necessary. And if you wanna start dissing America, dm me. We'll talk it out like gentlemen.

Literally go look at thomas' last post and tell me I'm wrong dude. I might be a young stupid teenage American, but I know when a country is trying to cause a war.

When our CIA meddles into another countries business of becoming communist/socialist/left wing , I look at it as a type of rescue mission. Kind of like you see the young girl next door to you being kidnapped into a van and you spring into action to save her. You're saving that country's people from a life of misery. BUT....if all the people in the country are happy with it and want to go that way , mind our own business. Now days , it seems we are too busy trying to deal with our own internal problems to get too involved with other countries problems. That being said , we seem to be getting sucked into Ukraine's problems and Israel's quite deeply , money and weapon wise.

Sounds like a very American perspective. But honestly, I'm surprised you have any opinions about this at all. Most people your age don't have any awareness of current or historical events like these at all.

I love studying history.

I sometimes wonder about our education system when I see drag queens allowed in to read to students and the American flag is not allowed. I also see street interviews of college kids who can not answer questions about things I learned in 5th grade. I'm hoping it's just a case of things being blown out of proportion and not real widespread.

This world is so messed up

Life is a roller coaster with lots of ups and downs for sure. Years ago I listened to old men talk about our world is doomed and going to hell in a hand basket and laughed at them for worrying. Now , I'm the old fart seeing doom & gloom. I keep seeing talk of WWIII happening anytime now and can't figure what that's all about. I guess it's good I can't be drafted but sadly i'm not nuke bomb proof.

Dear members, this is a friendly reminder to stay on topic. This thread is about the recent Chinese incursions in Japanese territorial airspace and waters.

I get carried away with the last post while forgetting all about the first.

A few of China's electronic warfare and spy planes. The one with the box on top is designed for long range signal jamming.

It's all about geopolitics and nothing to do with American altruism (or that of any other country for that matter - the Chinese are providing assistance to African countries because they want the business and regional influence; Japan are similar and want the votes from small countries on whaling issues). As for ousting bad leaders, the West were perfectly happy having Saddam Hussein in power during the 80s because it was expedient for them, and many Western nations are providing arms to Israel that are being used to destroy schools and hospitals. I could probably produce a lot more examples of highly unpleasant regimes that are or have been propped up by Western countries because it's good for business.

The world is MUCH more nuanced than Communism = bad, Western values = good. There are no good guys and it's all murky shades of grey.

I couldn't agree more with @Lothor. And in the age of social media, things have only gotten murkier. What makes me sad is that in American political discourse, terms like "socialism," "communism," or "liberalism" are utterly distorted and misrepresented. I wish people would enlighten themselves before throwing around terminology they seem unable or unwilling to comprehend.

Anyhow...

Any further discourse should be posted in a new thread, not here. Thank you.

Communism is not misinterpreted at all. We in the west know exactly what communism is, why it's bad, and why it needs to be stopped. Here's something my Grandpa says about communism. (Sorry, North Koreans) "'If you don't work, Kim Jong Un will smack you upside the head with a shovel while he chews on a nice steak and you're forced to eat grass.'"

But I agree with Thomas. We're getting vastly off-topic. From Chinese invasions to frickin' drag queens then to communism.

Let's get back to the topic.

I'm open to continue discussing our off topic topic here in a new thread I will make literally right now.

Usually getting people to change their minds on their beliefs is like beating a dead horse so to speak. When you keep poking the bear , emotions get heated. Probably just best to let things go and the posts to die out rather than picking at the scab. Wow , I managed to get a bunch of old cliches jammed in , LOL.

One of my favorite past-times is discussing and arguing about communism and twisted ideologies.

I'd like to agree with @Mansoor. Being the country with the largest navy and air force in the world, the Chinese should know to be very cautious around the US, and the US should be careful around china. I don't know about the other Americans, but I don't want a war with the country with the largest army in the world. I'm also sure I'm not the only American who would love to be on friendly terms with china, but I don't think the US would be willing to extend a hand of friendship towards china unless they do it first.

According to diplomatic sources, China has attributed the August incursion of its military plane (see above) into Japanese airspace to an "unexpected obstruction" caused by Japanese defence force activities. Beijing has neither admitted wrongdoing nor proposed measures to prevent future incidents. The "obstruction" likely refers to the Japanese Self-Defense Forces' tracking of Chinese military aircraft. This is the first time China has publicly explained the reason for the airspace violation.

Fighter jet pilots are restricted to using weapons only in self-defence or emergencies, so they cannot interfere with other aircraft. In his campaign for the LDP leadership, newly elected PM Ishiba proposed amending laws to allow the SDF to use weapons in response to Chinese airspace intrusions.

17 planes including a fighter, the bomber of China and Russia fly jointly for a long stretch of time over the Sea of Japan, and the flight confirmation of the two countries continues on 2nd.
