My girlfriends family didnt eat cereal, though they almost always had toast.
Bread seemed a breakfast food in that household.
Oh, that's interesting. Most American children, but some adults too, sometimes still eat cereals as snack foods. If there isn't time in the morning and not enough to eat at lunch I also occasionally enjoy one a little later in the day.I do not eat a cereal for breakfast.
However, I sometimes eat it with a snack.

I think I eat a Calpis brand cereal. I'm not sure because they take the bag out of the boxIt's very common, I had it everyday.
Now seriously, in Tokyo at least it is very easy to find cereals in any supermarket and even in Yakkyoku (Chemist's) and 100-yen shops. Kellog's are found everywhere. There are even products made specially for Japan (e.g. Genmai flakes). I haven't seen any Nestlé cereals though. Muesli is also a bit harder to find. You will need to go to supermarket specialising in imported products like Seijoishii or Meiji-ya.
Although I have eaten cereals for breakfast almost everyday for at least 15 years, I have never had them as a snack, and I do not know anybody (outside the forum) who has.
There's a lot of Kelloggs -- it was only the opinion of the people whose cereal I eat that it is too sweet. But I think they felt kind of bad since I even asked so maybe next time...So the theres no Kellogs in Japan ? Salmon for breakfast isn't salmon as exspensive as it is in the UK
I once read a book were a child said his mother gave him Sushi for breakfast would that be true do would sushi be a breakfast food ?
Miso for breakfast keeps me going all day. I think its the salty taste!
