Hey, I've been lurking here for a while, and finally decided to post. I've been attempting to learn Japanese on my own for about 2 months now, but it's hard. I hops to encounter many friendly people here, as well as much need grammatical advice, and an all around place where I know that my interest in Japan will be similar to all others here(can't say much about my area).

I'm 15, turning 16 soon, and I'm from Connecticut. My interest in Japan was piqued by watching Anime, and I've always wanted to be able to go there, and speak the language. I plan on moving there when I get out of college.

My favorite would have to be......Trinity Blood, Yu Yu Hakusho, and the Japanese Episodes of Digimon(kid-ish, I know xD).

No doubt. That has got to take will power. (Studying Japanese on your own from scratch) Don't hesitate to take up a class if you feel yourself getting discouraged. Those animated shows are always more interesting in Japanese, imo. Have fun here.
